SwoleTrain ("we", "our", "the app") is an AI-powered workout tracking application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address and password (for authentication)
• Display name and profile photo (optional)

Fitness & Health Information

You may optionally provide:

• Body weight, height, date of birth, gender, body fat percentage
• Fitness goals and fitness level
• Workout preferences (duration, frequency, focus areas)

Workout Data

When you use the app to track workouts, we collect:

• Workout sessions including exercises, sets, reps, weights, and duration
• Workout ratings and notes
• Custom workouts and exercises you create

AI Coach Interactions

When you use the AI Coach feature:

• Chat messages you send and receive are stored
• Images you upload (e.g., workout logs, form check photos) are sent to our AI provider for analysis
• PDF documents you upload are sent to our AI provider for analysis

Social Information

If you use social features, we collect:

• Friend connections and friend requests
• Group memberships and challenge participation
• Content you share with other users

Device & Usage Information

• Device type and operating system
• Push notification tokens (for delivering notifications)
• App usage events (screens viewed, features used, workout statistics)
• Advertising identifier (for users on the free tier who see ads)

Subscription Information

• Subscription status and plan type
• Purchase history is managed by Apple/Google and our subscription provider (RevenueCat)
• We do not collect or store credit card numbers or payment details

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide the service — track your workouts, generate AI coaching responses, sync data across your devices
• Personalize your experience — suggest workouts based on your goals, fitness level, and history
• Social features — connect you with friends, facilitate group workouts and challenges
• Send notifications — workout reminders, friend requests, challenge updates (based on your preferences)
• Display ads — show advertisements to free-tier users (premium subscribers do not see ads)
• Improve the app — analyze usage patterns to fix bugs and improve features
• Process subscriptions — manage your premium subscription status

3. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third-party services to operate the app:

Firebase (Google)

We use Firebase for authentication, database storage, analytics, and push notifications. Your account data, workout data, and usage analytics are stored on Firebase servers. Firebase Privacy Policy

Anthropic (AI Coach)

When you use the AI Coach, your chat messages and any images or documents you upload are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. Anthropic processes this data to generate coaching responses. Anthropic Privacy Policy

RevenueCat (Subscriptions)

We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. RevenueCat receives your anonymous user ID and purchase information from Apple/Google. RevenueCat Privacy Policy

Google AdMob (Advertising)

Free-tier users are shown ads powered by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve personalized ads. Premium subscribers do not see ads. Google Privacy Policy

4. Data Storage & Security

• Your data is stored on Firebase (Google Cloud) servers located in the United States
• Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication and are never stored in plain text
• Data is transmitted using encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS)
• We retain your data for as long as your account is active

5. Your Rights & Choices

Notification Preferences

You can control which notifications you receive in the app's Notification Settings. You can also disable notifications entirely through your device settings.

Ad Personalization

You can limit ad tracking through your device settings. You can also upgrade to a premium subscription to remove all ads.

Data Access & Deletion

You can request a copy of your data or request that your account and all associated data be deleted by contacting us at the email below. Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal data from our systems within 30 days.

Camera & Photo Access

The app requests camera and photo library access only when you choose to upload images to the AI Coach. You can revoke these permissions at any time through your device settings.

6. Children's Privacy

SwoleTrain is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
